Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-01 · Effective September 1, 2026
Data 486 LLC ("Data 486", "we", "us") makes small business software. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are the agreement between you and Data 486 for use of data486.com and every product listed below (each a "Product", together the "Services"). By creating an account, signing in, buying a plan, or using a Product, you agree to these Terms.
This single agreement replaces the separate terms that used to live on each product site.
1. The products these cover
| Product | What it does | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Data 486 | Storefront, customer account, subscriptions, invoices | data486.com |
| Business Meetings | Committee positions and terms, live elections, projector view, results PDF | businessmeeting.app |
| Beef Squared | Cattle decision support — value of gain, buy/sell, herd value, USDA market reports | beef.data486.com (in development) |
| CropData | Excess-fertility reports from soil-sample exports — nutrient math, field maps, printed report PDF | cropdata.data486.com (in development) |
| CalculateFoam | Spray-foam quoting, jobs, and job costing | calculatefoam.com |
| 486 Creations | One-time purchase of furniture build-plan PDFs | 486creations.com |
If we launch another product under Data 486, these Terms cover it too. A Product may add terms that apply only to it; where they conflict, the Product's terms win for that Product.
2. Your account
One Data 486 login works across the Products you are entitled to. Keep it confidential — you are responsible for what happens under it. Use accurate information, and tell us if you lose control of the account.
An account owner may invite other people and set their role. The owner is responsible for who they invite and for what those members do. Removing a member detaches them; it does not delete the records they created, because deleting them would break the history other people rely on.
You must be at least 18. If you sign up for an organization — a church, a ranch, a contracting business — you confirm you are allowed to agree to these Terms on its behalf.
3. Access
Some Products are open to sign up. Others are granted by us, organization by organization. We may approve, refuse, suspend, or end access at any time, including for non-payment or misuse.
4. Your records
You own the data you enter or import: member names, positions, votes and results; herd lots, trades and market selections; customers, jobs, quotes and costs; growers, fields, soil-sample results and the reports built from them. You grant us a license to host, process, transmit and display that data solely to run the Services for you.
You are responsible for having the right to enter or import other people's information, for any third-party API key you paste in, and for how your organization uses what the Services produce.
5. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Subscriptions are billed through Stripe on the plan you pick at checkout. They renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for; access continues until then.
- Refunds are not automatic for partial periods. If something went wrong, ask us through the contact form — we would rather fix it than keep money we did not earn.
- One-time purchases (build plans) are delivered as a download as soon as payment clears. Tell us through the contact form if a file does not arrive or does not open, and we will make it right.
- Prices can change. We will tell you before a change hits a renewal. Continuing after that is acceptance of the new price.
- Taxes are your responsibility unless we are required to collect them.
- Free and beta products can stay free, start charging with notice, or be withdrawn.
We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles payment details; we keep the card brand and last four digits so you can tell your cards apart.
6. Beta software
Products marked beta or in development are exactly that. Features change, break, and get removed. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Services: no attempting to reach another organization's data, no probing or disrupting the systems, no reselling access, no scraping, no unlawful use, and nothing that would put us or another customer at legal risk.
8. What the Services do not decide for you
Every Product is a tool that records and calculates what you give it. None of them is an authority, and none of the output is professional advice.
- Business Meetings records what you enter during a meeting. It does not sit as your denomination, board, or bylaw authority, and it does not certify that an election was valid under your constitution. Term math may not match your bylaws. You decide how to use the record.
- The projector page and any results PDF are visible to anyone with the link or in the room. Names and vote totals shown there are not a secret ballot. Do not share those links more widely than you intend.
- Beef Squared produces decision support from the numbers and market reports you select — value of gain, buy/sell, herd value. It is not veterinary, nutritional, tax, legal, accounting, or livestock-marketing advice, and it does not predict prices. Optional USDA My Market News / MARS quotes are third-party public data: reports can be late, revised, incomplete, or missing for a market, and we do not guarantee a match for class, frame, muscle, or weight. Manual prices always work when a report does not. Cattle decisions are yours.
- Beef Squared is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of the United States Department of Agriculture or its Agricultural Marketing Service. USDA marks and report names belong to those agencies.
- CropData turns the soil-sample export you give it into excess-fertility math and a report. It is not an agronomic recommendation, a soil test, a lab result, or fertilizer, environmental, tax or legal advice, and it does not decide what a field needs. Every number follows the baselines, product percentages and prices you set, and the sample values in the file you import — change either and the report changes. Check the figures against your own agronomy before you hand a report to a grower.
- CalculateFoam produces estimates from the measurements, coverages and prices you enter. An estimate is not a bid, a contract, or a guarantee of yield, material use, or job cost. Check every quantity before you give a customer a number.
- 486 Creations build plans are hobby woodworking and metalworking plans, not engineered drawings. They are licensed for your own personal, non-commercial builds. You are responsible for your tools, your materials, your safety, and any local code or permit that applies.
9. Third-party services
The Services rely on other companies to work: Stripe for payments, our hosting and email providers, and — only when you turn them on — Sign in with Apple, schedule.church roster sync (Business Meetings), USDA AMS market data (Beef Squared), and QuickBooks (CalculateFoam). Those services act under their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages, changes, or decisions. The Privacy Policy lists who receives what.
10. Disclaimer
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss, or that any calculation, term schedule, estimate, or market figure will match your bylaws, your books, or the real world.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOST OR DISPUTED VOTES, MISSED MARKETS, UNDERBID JOBS, OR DECISIONS YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION MAKE USING THE SERVICES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ZERO IF YOU ARE NOT BEING BILLED.
Nothing here limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from the data you enter or import, an API key or token you provide, links or files you share, your organization's decisions, or your use of the Services in breach of these Terms.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your account from your profile. We may suspend or end access for non-payment, misuse, or legal risk. When an account closes, we delete or return your records as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes
We may change the Services and these Terms. A changed version is posted here with a new effective date and version. If you have an account, we record which version you accepted; continued use after a new effective date is acceptance of it.
15. Contact
Use the contact form at data486.com. That reaches Data 486 LLC directly.
